Lekha
Nath Poudyal (1884 - 1965) is considered by
critics as the poet who bridged the classical
and modern periods in Nepali poetry. His poems
are full of the descriptions of nature, but the
fact that he was very aware of the political changes
in Asia becomes evident from this unusual poem,
which is not included in anthologies. The events
described here show the time in history when he
composed it, and the irony of pragati or progress
that the poet saw. |
