Motiram
Bhatta (1866 - 1897) was the biographer of
Bhanu Bhakta. Born in Kathmandu, educated in Banaras
in Sanskrit, Persian and English, this poet was
very much involved in developing literary journalism
in Kathmandu, opening literary clubs and bringing
the Nepali and Newari poets together, because
obviously he was fluent in Newari language also.
