Poems of the Century

.

-Dhuswan Sayami
(1930)

A real image
Is captured in my eyes
(There is) not any mountain
Not any azure hues
Nor any houses of this earth

On the lap of the mountain
beautiful and calm
On the border of the sky and the settlement
Almost at the nook and corner of the forest
Only just a while ago
I come across a rising image
a small
the chaitya stupa of Swoyambhu.

The dust
is anxious to spreading over with its own
sweet will
owing to the whinning and fluttering of the wind
The dust
The attire of the man
And the head of the man.

That Buddha,
One Buddha, each and every Buddha
Be calm,
In the postures of
Abhaya, Varada, Dhyans, Bhoosparsha
Arid many many more postures

Musing in the silent language
Engaging in dialogues
From the void
From the sky, the earth, the wind and

Amidst storms and hurricanes
The lamp that is burning is what the life is
The life is to be a fall
cracking the stones slabs

People moving to and fro
The vehicles playing on the road
Have no time
To listen to and to understand that
To recognize that.

Only eavesdropping all around
Only it is just heard all round
Echoing, Vibrating
Becoming the music
Echo and re-echoing salutation with veneration
Om Mani Padme Hum (Jewel in the Louts!Amen)
OM Mani Padme Hum
